Planned Companies provides janitorial, maintenance, concierge and security services to a wide array of clients.
They needed a way to enhance their customer connection, simplify service inquiries, and provide clients with a comprehensive overview of their work orders.
My goal was to establish a consistent visual identity and user experience across their public-facing and back-office applications, design a customer portal that caters to both users and stakeholders, and revamp their public website.
Prioritizing the customer portal, I initiated a conversation with the key stakeholders to gain insights into their business operations and clientele. Together, we determined the most useful features for the users.
After outlining the MVP, I proceeded to create wireframes for the primary dashboard, experimenting with various layouts. Next, I explored different visual styles and applied them to each dashboard layout.
I presented several versions to the client and we narrowed it down to one style and layout. Based on it, I designed the remaining pages, experimenting with various layouts for different sections and refining the high-fidelity design.
I also created a prototype that was shared with a select group of clients, who provided valuable feedback that was incorporated into the final iteration.
With the customer portal in the development phase, I began reviewing the internal applications they were using to outline their processes. This proved invaluable when I started designing the back-office application, which comprised various sub-applications, each utilized by a distinct team.
This led to the development of a more user-friendly and intuitive interface.
The final task was revamping the public website, incorporating the new visual design.
